Shen Space Acupuncture — Booking Terms & Conditions
By booking an appointment with Shen Space Acupuncture, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before confirming your booking.
1. Booking & Payment
Payment is required in full at the time of booking to confirm your appointment. All payments are processed securely via Stripe. Once payment is received, you will receive a confirmation email with your appointment details.
2. Cancellation & Rescheduling
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please give at least 24 hours’ notice by emailing info@shenspaceacupuncture.org. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed appointments without prior notice, will not be eligible for a refund.
3. Late Arrivals
If you arrive late for your appointment, your treatment may need to be shortened to avoid disrupting other patients. The full session fee will still apply.
4. Practitioner Allocation
As a multi-bed clinic, we have a number of practitioners who rotate each week depending on availability and bookings. While we will do our best to accommodate preferences, we cannot guarantee a specific practitioner for every appointment.
5. Health & Medical Information
It is your responsibility to inform your practitioner of any medical conditions, medications, allergies, or relevant health information before treatment begins. This includes any changes to your health since your last visit. Please inform us if you are or may be pregnant. Accurate information enables us to provide safe and appropriate care.
6. Risks & Side Effects
Acupuncture is generally considered safe when performed by a qualified practitioner. However, mild side effects may occasionally occur, including slight bruising, bleeding, or temporary soreness at needle sites, temporary dizziness or light-headedness, and tiredness following treatment. By booking your appointment, you acknowledge and accept these possible risks.
7. Treatment Outcomes
Each individual responds differently to acupuncture. While we aim to support your health and wellbeing, we cannot guarantee specific results from any treatment. Acupuncture is a complementary therapy and is not a substitute for conventional medical advice or treatment.
8. Consent
By completing your booking, you consent to receiving acupuncture treatment (or other treatments as discussed with your practitioner). You may withdraw your consent at any time during a session.
9. Age Requirement
You must be at least 18 years old to book an appointment. Patients under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and may require additional consent.
10. Data Protection & Privacy
We collect personal information necessary to provide safe and effective treatment, including your name, contact details, and health information. Your data is stored securely and processed in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. We will not share your personal information with third parties without your consent, except where required by law. For further details, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
11. Marketing Communications
If you opt in to marketing communications, we may contact you with information about clinic dates, times, and services. You can unsubscribe at any time by contacting us at info@shenspaceacupuncture.org.
12. Liability
Shen Space Acupuncture Practitioners carry full professional indemnity and public liability insurance. Our practitioners are qualified and registered with the relevant professional bodies. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
13. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update these terms and conditions from time to time. The current version will always be available on our website.
